Edith H. (Buck) Wilson
Edith H. (Buck) Wilson, of Erie, passed away on
October 19th.
She was born on January 6, 1919, in Pitcairn, Pa.,
where she grew up, married her soul-mate, W. Wayne
Wilson, and raised three daughters.
After being widowed, she moved
to Delmont and then to North East
in 1990 and to Sarah Reed Senior
Living in Erie in 2014.
Edith is survived by her daughters
Carol Wilson of California, Lorraine
Wilson of Colorado, and Donna Wilson
(Terry Wayne) of Erie; her sister
Georgia Greer of Jeannette, Pa.; and
a nephew and several nieces. She
is also survived by friends Linda Williams of Erie and
Sherry Reed of North East.
Preceding her in death were her infant daughter
Barbara Jean; her beloved husband of 35 years,
Wayne; her parents Ruth and George Buck; her aunt
Edith Jenny; and her brother Jack Buck.
Edith attended the University of Pittsburgh, married
and raised a family, volunteered for many years
with the Girl Scouts and the YWCA and took up oil
painting in her 40s. After being widowed in 1975, she
returned to college and completed an Associate’s Degree
as an Occupational Therapy Assistant at age 60.
She then worked for five years before retiring.
She was a longtime Quaker, formerly a member of
the Pittsburgh Friends Meeting, and in more recent
years, a member of the Erie Friends Worship Group.
She was intrigued by lifelong learning, very interested
in current affairs and especially caring towards
others. She was a gentle soul who tried her best to
live a kind life which she exemplified through her
volunteer work and interactions with everyone she

Home, 65 S. Lake St., North East, on Thursday, October
25, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. followed immediately by a Celebration
of Life Memorial Service at 4:00 p.m. Guests
are encouraged to wear turquoise, which was her
favorite color. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent
to the charity of your choice.

Dear Donna and family, Edith was my painting friend, we had a lot of fun painting flowers in my garden. She was the kindest person I ever met. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
