David J Hart

David J. Hart, age 70, of Ripley, New York, passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2024, at his residence.

He was born on December 22, 1953, in Oil City, Pennsylvania to the late Lamberton L. Hart and Mary Alice (Smith) Hart.

David completed high school and served in the Army.  While in the Army, he completed the Engineer Medical Equipment course and received the National Defense Service Medal and the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal.

He was employed at General Electric for 36 years as a Quality Inspector, retiring in 2014.  After retirement, he was employed with Fisher Security at Bayfront Sand and Gravel.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, antique cars and especially his family.

David is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Judy Fiamella.

He is survived by his wife, Joan M. (Palmer) Hart; his children, Nicholas Hart of SC, Ricki Peterson of SC, Devin Black (Katie) of TX and Heather Thorpe (Keith) of Westfield, NY: brother, Buzz Hart (Phyllis) of PA; sister, Linda Gastol (John) of CA; and grandchildren, Ryan, Joslyn, Cassie, Milee, Grasyn and Ada.

Family and friends may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake Street, North East on Saturday, April 6, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., with full Military Honors.  Private interment will be held at the North East Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
