Marie H. Garnow Jackson, lifetime resident of North East, PA, died at Ball Pavilion on Friday, July 20 and is at peace in the arms of her loving Savior.  She was born in North East on August 9, 1922 daughter of the late Harold and Henrietta Voss Garnow.
            Marie was a 1940 graduate of North East High School.  She had worked as a bookkeeper at several businesses in the area including the J. R. Bull Company in North East for many years.  She retired from the Lutheran Home in Erie.
            She was an active member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in North East where she had worked as an assistant to the church secretary and editor of the newsletter.  She was also a member of the LWML, Altar Guild, Ladies Aid and Sewing group.  She had also been a member of the North East Woman’s Club, AARP, and a volunteer at Ball Pavilion.
            She loved reading, crossword puzzles, gardening, and traveling.  She especially enjoyed getting together with family in the Carolinas for Christmas.  Myrtle Beach was a favorite vacation place.
            In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Gordon, and a son-in-law, Tom Stanley.
            She will be deeply missed by her daughters Suzanne Jackson of North East and Janis Stanley of Slippery Rock, PA, her brother Stuart Garnow of North East, and her granddaughters Karen and her husband Clint Lingenfelder of Hanahan, SC, Laura and her husband Ryan Bedell of Wilmington, NC, and Katie Stanley of Hanahan, SC and great grandson, Camden Lingenfelder.
            We greatly appreciate the loving care she received at Ball Pavilion and also the help given by the North East Community Nurses and hospice.  Thanks also to Pastor Kuchta.
            Friends may call at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 30 Clinton St., North East, on Tuesday from 2:00 to the time of the funeral service at  3:00 followed by burial at the North East Cemetery.
            In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 30 Clinton St., North East, PA; Community Nursing Services of North East, 7 Park St., North East, PA; or Ball Pavilion Recreation, 5416 East Lake Rd., Erie, PA.
