Roger L. Wettekin, age 78, of North East died on Tuesday August 11, 2015 at his residence.

He was born on September 19, 1936 in Erie, PA to the late Lyle James and Louise Elsie Turberson.

Roger was a graduate of Academy High School.

He formerly was employed as a sign painter for over 40 years at Al's Sign Shop, owned and operated Wettekin's Auto Body in Erie, and worked for Freddy Altenburger painting "Mail Pouch" signs in West Virginia.

Roger enjoyed socializing with his friends in the Life Program at Village at Lutheran Square.  Anyone who knew Roger, knew he always had a good story to share.

He enjoyed flea markets, auctions, western movies, Ozzy Osbourne, fishing, art, antiques and the State of PA.  He also had a love for antique cars and Indian Motorcycles.

Roger is survived by his wife of 35 years, Alma I. Duke Wettekin, whom he married May 10,1980; sons, Roger W. Wettekin (Tamara) of Erie; Richard B. Wettekin (Gayle) of Erie, Charles C. Rice of Waterford, Stanley S. Rice of Geneva, OH, Brian S. Rice (Jennifer) of Erie, Aaron M. Wettekin of Erie; daughters, Louise Fahlen (Al) of Albion, Laurie Wettekin of Erie, Melissa Morad (Robert) of Erie, Jennifer Mushrush (Patrick) of North East; brother, Robert Wettekin of Erie; sister, Jean Wettekin of Erie; 26 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 S. Lake Street, North East on Friday 2-4 and 7-9 and are invited to attend a funeral service on Saturday at 11:00 am at the funeral home.  Officiating Rev. Roy P.
