Wayne E Wakeley

Wayne E. Wakeley, 90, of North East, passed away peacefully at home on Monday June 12, 2023. He was born on April 19, 1933 in Ripley, NY, the son of the late Charles and Mary (Tarr) Wakeley. 

Wayne served in the United States Army and was formerly employed by the New York Central Railroad. He retired from the Electric Materials company in North East. Wayne enjoyed small engine repair, home remodeling and building puzzles. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Dwight Wakeley; grandson Ryan Wakeley and great-granddaughter Tessa Divelbliss, brothers, Richard Wakeley and Lawrence Wakeley. 

Wayne is survived by his wife of 62 years Dorothe (McKenery) Wakeley, daughter Cheryl (Dale) Steger and sons Dennis Baker and Edward (Carol) Baker; sisters Florence Staszewski and Janice Murray and brothers James (Diane) Wakeley and David Wakeley, numerous neices, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his beloved dog Kevin.
