Urban “Urb” J. Kirsch, age 82, of North East, passed away on Monday March 14, 2022 at LECOM Senior Living Center surrounded by his family. He was born on March 19,1939 in Spangler, Pennsylvania the son of the late Urban A. and Viola (Kline) Kirsch. Urb graduated from Northern Cambria and was formerly em- ployed by General Electric as an assembler for 32 years retiring in 1995. He was an active member at St. Gregory Thaumaturgus Church where he served as an usher and was a member of the St. Gregory Knights of Columbus #4262. Urb was preceded in death by his parents and son, Kenneth Thomas Kirsch. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary Lou (Tanzy) Kirsch whom he married July 16, 1960; son, Glenn Kirsch of North East; daughter, Donna Kirsch of Raleigh, North Caroli- na; brothers, Allan Kirsch (Donna) of Nicktown, PA and Leroy Kirsch (Sandra) of Olathe, Kansas; grandchildren, Nicole Kirsch of Millcreek, Kyle Kirsch (Rebecca) of North East , and Bryan Kirsch (Morgan) of North East; great-grandchildren, Brayden, Ava, Charlotte, and Kiyah. Friends and family may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65, South Lake Street, North East on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. till 6:00 p.m. and are invited to attend a Prayer Service on Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home followed by a Funeral Mass at 2:00 p.m. at St. Gregory Thaumaturgus Church, 50 South Pearl Street, North East. A Vigil Prayer will begin at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday March 17th including the Rosary led by St. Gregory’s Knights of Columbus. Interment will be held at St. Gregory Cemetery.
