Susan Dye Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of Susan (Spencer) Dye announce her passing after a prolonged illness on May 11, 2024 at Corry Manor.

Sue was born in Westfield, N.Y. on Dec. 22, 1948 to the late Norman Spencer and Mary (Miller) Mosconi. Also preceded in death by (Stepfather) William Mosconi and (brother) Edward Baker.

Survived by her husband of 51 years Dwayne "Stack" Dye, (son) Doug Dye, (brother) Sam Spencer/ Linda, (sister) Debra Spencer, (brother) Dale Spencer/Arla, (stepsister) Roxane Melton/Jim, (grandchildren) Lyric, Miriam and Micah Rowan and Mason Dye, (uncle) Michael Miller/Phyllis and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

After graduating from North East High School in 1968, Sue went on to graduate from St. Vincent's School of Nursing. She began her career as a nurse working at both St. Vincent's and Hamot Hospitals. She then became a valued nurse for the North East Community Nurses before going into the medical field as a life care planner/healthcare case manager at Genex Services where she remained until retiring due to illness.

Sue was very active in the North East Junior Women's Club, serving a term as president. She also was instrumental in developing the cheerleaders for the North East Little Gridders program. Sue was an avid reader, loved sitting out on her deck and loved her knitting.

No funeral services will be held at Sue's request. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

The family is very grateful for the outstanding care that Sue received while a resident at Corry Manor.
