Shirley M (Lentz) Hamilton

Shirley M. (Lentz) Hamilton, 98, of North East, passed away on Tuesday September 9, 2025 at Ball Pavilion.

She was born on August 7, 1927 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to the late William Logan and Daisy Bell (Jacob) Lentz

Shirley was a member of the North East First Presbyterian Church and PEO where she served as past president.

She was formerly employed by Welch Foods, picked and tied grapes for McCord Farms, and worked as a summer camp secretary for many years.

Shirley loved spending time with her family and enjoyed skiing and traveling.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Matthew F. Hamilton.

Shirley is survived by her children, Gregg Hamilton (Leslie) of Liverpool, NY and Christy Homan (Pete) of Westerville, OH; grandchildren, Brian Hamilton, Kira Marchitto, Kevin Homan, and Megan Grant (Lee); 11 great-grandchildren; and a nieces and nephew.

Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service at the First Presbyterian Church of North East, 25 West Main Street, North East on Saturday October 18th at 11:00 a.m. Officiating the service is Rev. Dr. Gregg Townsend. Private burial will be held at North East Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Community Nursing Services of North East, 7 Park Street, North East, PA 16428 or McCord Memorial Library, 32 West Main Street, North East, PA 16428 or the First Presbyterian Church of North East 25 West Main Street, North East, PA 16428.
