Shirley (Ellsworth) Goodwill

Shirley (Ellsworth) Goodwill, age 96, of North East, passed away on Sunday March 2, 2025 at UPMC Hamot.

She was born on March 14, 1928 in North East, Pennsylvania to the late Otto and Gertrude (Brewer) Ellsworth.

Shirley graduated from North East High School and worked in the office at Welch Foods in North East and Westfield for 19 years.

She was a member of the North East y Alliance Church where she was the church organist, library committee member, church deaconess, and volunteer for SOWER Ministry.

Shirley loved spending time with her grandchildren and enjoyed camping, music, and painting.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William C. Goodwill.

She is survived by her children, Kevin L. Goodwill and Karen Goodwill Bush (Jerry);  grandchildren, Jason "JD" Goodwill (Alyssa), Morgan Wiseman (Steve), Deidre Reinhart (Luke), and Gregory Bush (Shannon); and 15 great-grandchildren.

Family and friends may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake Street, North East on Thursday March 6th from 4:00 p.m. till 7:00 p.m. and are invited to attend a funeral service on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Officiating the service is Rev. Marvin Hutchison. Interment will be held at North East Cemetery. Memorials may be made to 81 East Main Street, North East, PA 16428.
