Sarah (Sherrange) Weaver LaRiccia

Sarah Sherrange Weaver LaRiccia, age 94, of Erie formerly of North East, passed away on Friday November 29, 2024 at LECOM Senior Living Center.

She was born on May 12, 1930 in North East, Pennsylvania to the late Dominic and Carrie (Federico) Sherrange.

Sarah was raised in North East and graduated from North East High School.

In her younger years, Sarah worked at Keystone Foods, Fanny Farmer Candy Store, Pulakos Chocolates, Cohen Auto Parts, and several bakeries and department stores in the Erie area.

She was a member of St. Gregory Thaumaturgus Church and had a deep faith throughout her lifetime.

Sarah enjoyed cooking, traveling, dogs, and playing the organ.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Stanley Raymond Weaver; second husband, Rocco A. LaRiccia; brothers, Charles and Angelo Sherrange; and sisters, Mary Ann Post and Josephine Muscarella.

Sarah is survived by her children, Karen Hendershot (Russ), Susan Makowski (Don), son, Raymond Weaver (Mary) and Sally Ann Giovannelli (John); 8 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and several close nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake Street, North East on Friday December 6th from 10:00 am until time of a Funeral Service at 11:00 am at the funeral home.
