Sally "Dee" (Sprague) Smelko

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Sally “Dee” Sprague Smelko. Sally died at Ball Pavilion on Saturday, December 28th. She was born to the late Paul and Jean Sprague on November 25, 1940.

She was a graduate of Reynoldsville High School. After high school, she married her husband Joe in 1962 in Anita, PA. She was a cook at Harborcreek Youth Services for 25 years, retiring in 2000. She loved golf, playing cards and spending time with her grandchildren and great- grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Joe on August 17, 2024. She is survived by her daughter, Tina Brown (Tom); grandchildren, Shannon Chrispen (Adam), Leann Brown (Kale Asp) and Thomas J. Brown (Samantha); great- grandchildren, Emery, Riley, Aggie and Elsie.

Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Private interment will be held at St. Gregory Cemetery. Funeral services have been entrusted to the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake Street, North East, PA. Please send condolences to elkinfh.com.
