Sally (Lynch) Ensign, 90, formerly of Westfield, NY and North East, PA, passed away on January 31, 2024 at Chautauqua Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Dunkirk, NY.
Born November 7, 1933, to the late John Edwin and Dorothy (Ferguson) Lynch, she was a 1951 graduate of Brocton Central School and a former member of the Brocton Methodist Church.
Sally enjoyed roller skating, dancing, and working in her flower gardens – but most of all, she loved spending time with her family.
Surviving are daughters Linda (Michael) Probst of Ripley and Laurie Ensign (Jaime Galarza) of Dunkirk, and son Larry “Jake” (Nancy) Ensign of Busti; five grandchildren: Matthew (Karen) Probst, Michelle (William) Garrett, Leslie (Edward) Anderson, Stephanie Hammond and Brianne Myers; and eleven great-grandchildren: Samantha, Mason, Rachel, Jacob, Harrison, Jackson, Addison, Declan, Kailyn, Trevor and Ayden.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Herbert Ensign Jr whom she married in 1954 and who died in 1970; her fiancé Robert Jackson who died in 2011; and great-grandsons Isaac, Ethan and Lucas Anderson who died in 2015.
Friends are welcome to call at Elkins Funeral Home, 30 South Lake St in North East, PA on February 17, 2024 from 2-4 pm where a memorial service will immediately follow at 4 pm. Interment in the Portland Evergreen Cemetery will be private and at a later date.
The family wishes to thank the 1B staff of CNRC for the kindness and care given to Sally during her stay there.
