Rose Rohman Whitman, age 89, of North East, passed away on Saturday September 3, 2022 at Parkside North East. She was born on July 26, 1933 in Ripley, New York the daughter of the late William and Vivian (Beatty) Rohman. Rose graduated from Sherman High School and was an active member of the Stateline United Methodist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, volunteering at church functions, listening to audio books, and collecting frog figurines. Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Wilfred Whitman. She is survived by her daughters, April Hansard (John) of Port Orange, FL and Susan Whitman of North East; brothers, Richard Rohman of North East and David Rohman of Winter Park, FL; grandchildren, Eric Hansard (Rebecca) of Crestview, FL and Erin Hansard of Port Orange, FL; great-granddaughters, Addie, Emma, and Olivia of Crestview, FL; also several nieces, nephews, and cousins. A special thank you to Dave and Mary Meehl for caring for Rose throughout the years. Friends may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake Street, North East on Monday September 5 from 1:00 P.M. until time of a funeral service at 3:00 P.M. Officiating the service is Pastor Mary Stewart. Private interment will be held at North East Cemetery. Memorials may be made to State Line United Methodist Church, 12591 East Main Street, North East, PA 16428 or the Crescent Hose Company, P.O.
