Ron L. Barnett

Ron L. Barnett, age 78, of Erie and formerly of North East, passed away on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at Millcreek Community Hospital. He was born on July 18, 1943 in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania the son of the late Horace L. Barnett and Mary P. (Schreckengost) Barnett Shirey.

Ron graduated from North Tonawanda High School and SUNY Buffalo State College earning a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics. He was formerly employed by Bell Aerospace and later served as the acting manager at Welch Foods in Westfield and in Concord, Mass. until retirement. Ron enjoyed golfing, fishing, traveling, and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Larry Copenhaver; and sisters, Jane Tapley and Lois Barnett.

Ron is survived by his wife of 57 years, Marcia A. (Pettit) Barnett; son, Todd Barnett of North East; daughter, Heather Barnett of North East; grandchildren, Brittany and Tyler Cozad; nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Friends may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake Street, North East on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Erie City Mission, 1017 French Street, Erie, PA 16501, or the Shriner Children's Hospital, 1645 West 8th Street, Erie, PA 16505.
