Robert C Lewis

Robert C. Lewis, age 87, of North East, passed away on Thursday July 6, 2023 at UPMC Hamot. He was born on March 14, 1936 in Erie, PA the son of the late Ralph and Jennie (Bieliski) Lewis. Robert graduated from North East High School and served in the United States Army. He was formerly employed by Welch Food starting on June 7, 1955 and received the North East 50 years Welch Foods Credit Union Award. Robert retired from Welch Foods in 1998 and had worked there for 43 years. He was a member of St. Gregory Thaumaturgus Church and the St. Gregory Knights of Columbus Council 4262. He was also an Honorary Member of Fuller Hose Co., the Concord Steppers, and the Dancing Flames. Robert love spending time with his family and friends and will be sadly missed by all who loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Herb Yosten. Robert is survived by his wife of 66 years, Doris (Yosten) Lewis whom he married on June 1, 1957; children, Robert Lewis (Angel) of North East, Darlene Youngs (Gary) of North East, Edward Lewis (Mary Anne) of North East, and Joseph Lewis (Geralyn) of Erie ; 14 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Family and friends may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake Street, North East on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. and are invited to attend a Funeral Service on Monday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Officiating the service is Fr. Thomas Brooks. Interment with Full Military Honors will be held at North East Cemetery. The Rosary will be prayed by the St. Gregory Knights of Columbus Council 4262 on Sunday at 1:40 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Fuller Hose Co., P.O. Box 89, North East, PA 16428.
