Robert Craig Obituary

Robert D. Craig, age 82, of Harborcreek passed away on Thursday April 17, 2025 surrounded by loving family.

He was born on April 18, 1942 in Rimersburg, Pennsylvania to the late Thomas H. and Mary Agnes (Hartman) Craig.

Bob loved and served his Savior Jesus Christ. 

Bob served in the United States Army in the 3rd Armor Division obtaining the rank of PFC. 

He worked at General Electric from 1962 until 1997 as a Wireman on Locomotives. After retirement he drove bus for Solvedt.

Bob was a member of the Harborcreek Fire Department for over 50 years serving in numerous positions during his time there. He was a member of Wesleyville American Legion Post 571. He was a member of the HAM radio club operating under his callsign KB3LZK. 

Bob was a jokester and loved making many friends and family laugh. He enjoyed building legos and R/C planes. He was an outdoorsman, including gardening, and caring for the lawn. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, and listening to Bluegrass music. He was an expert at knitting. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; beloved wife, Carolyn Twila (Peck) Craig; brothers, Wade, Herbert, Ed, Thomas, and Connell Craig; sisters, Mary E. Wright, Agnes Males, Anabelle Prichard, and Elsie Grazier.

Bob is survived by his sons, Glenn Craig (Tonya) of North East, Jeff Craig (Cindi) of Union City, Ronald Craig (Stephanie) of Troutville, VA, daughter, Tina Gross (James) of Lake City; sisters, Louella Mong (Robert) of Millcreek and Barbara Hatt of Erie; grandchildren, Aaron, Trevor, Rodney, Avery, Ashley, Allison, Barbara, Kyle, Paul, Matthew, Holly, Alayna, Ian, Aidan, Owen, Ethan, Jeremy, Matthew, Garrett, Nykole, Keerstin, Jon, Mat, and Alexys; 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends and family may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake Street, North East on Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and are invited to attend a funeral service with Full Military Honors on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Officiating the service is Rev. Nicola Vitiello. Interment will be held at Erie County Memorial Gardens.
