Robert Brown Obituary

Robert C. Brown, age 79, of North East, passed away on Friday, July 22, 2022 at Nightingale Nursing Home. He was born on December 22,1942 in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania the son of the late Robert D. and Grace (Priester) Brown. 

After graduating high school, Bob served in the United States Army as a transportation specialist. He formerly owned and operated Brown's Equipment Company Inc. in North East for 34 years. Bob formerly served as a North East Township Supervisor; past president of the North East Chamber of Commerce; past member of the North East Water and Sewer Authority; and the North East planning Commission. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of North East where he was a trustee for several years. Bob enjoyed gardening, snowmobiling, and John Deere Tractors. 

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mary (Schroder) Brown whom he married on August 7, 1961; children, Scott Brown (Martha) and Diane Villa (Jeremy); brothers, Donald C. Brown and Larry E. Brown (Donna); and a sister, Karen A. Ahlgrim (Mark); also many nieces, nephews, and treasured friends. 

Friends may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake Street, North East on Friday from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and are invited to attend a funeral service on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of North East. Officiating the service is Rev. Dan Cass. Private interment will be held at Grahamville Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of North East, 43 South Lake Street, North East, PA 16428, or to Camp Judson, 398 Holliday Road, North Springfield, PA 16430.
