Richard Lee Rohman, age 86, of North East and Ripley, passed away on Thursday June 18, 2026 at UPMC Hamot.
He was born on January 8, 1940 in Ripley, New York to the late William and Vivian (Beatty) Rohman.
Richard's life was defined by dedication, education, and steadfast public service.
He graduated from Sherman Central School before continuing his higher education at the University of Kentucky. He was employed as an auditor for Chautauqua County for several years. A devoted public servant, he dedicated his time and leadership to local government, proudly serving as the Mayor of Ripley, New York. Outside of his official mayoral duties, he remained highly active and engaged in local politics and community development.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Rose Whitman.
He is survived by his brother, David Rohman; nieces, April Hamsard and Susan Whitman; and nephews, Alan, Brad, and Craig Rohman; and several cousins.
