Raymond A Benden

Raymond A. Benden, age 84, of North East, passed away on Friday October 28, 2022 at UPMC Hamot. He was born on April 15, 1938 in Homestead, Pa. to the late Alvin "Pick" and Margaret (Ewing) Benden. Raymond graduated from St. Gregory High School and later served in the United States Navy. He was formerly employed by Electric Materials for several years. Raymond loved spending time with his family and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Carl Benden. Raymond is survived by his wife of 64 years, Joan (Culver) Benden whom he married November 8, 1958; children; Raymond S. Benden (Cheryl) of North East, Lisa Izzio (Joseph) of South Dayton, NY, Paula Froehlich of North East, and Kenneth J. Benden (Kimberly) of North East; sisters, Nancy Wilbur of Indiana and Arlene Enos (David) of Virginia; sister-in-law, Elsie Benden of North East; grandchildren, Andrea Rizzo, Samuel Rizzo, Josh Parmarter, Amanda Parmarter, Katie Parmarter, Andrew Benden, and Emily Benden; great-grandchildren, Isabella, London, Celeste, Joel, Kannon, Kael, Logan, and Lucas; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake Street, North East, on Tuesday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. and are invited to attend a funeral service on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
