Paul William Hitchcock, of North East, went to be at home with our Lord and Savior on Saturday, November 27, 2021.
He was born in Erie, PA on June 19, 1946 and was a lifelong resident of North East. Paul graduated from St. Gregory High School. He loved his jobs at Erie Sports Store, UPMC Hamot Hospital, Bayside Pharmacy, King’s Kloset, and LaRocca’s Men’s Store. Paul was a member of the St. Gregory Church, President of the Usher Association for many years, was a part of the Cursillo movement, and planned the St. Gregory High School reunions for 15 years. He was a faithful Penn State fan and looked forward to going to one game a year with his brother and nephew. You could see him walking through our beautiful town of North East just about every day. He also loved traveling down south and going on adventures with his family. He loved all of his fur grandbabies, they lit up his face every time he saw them.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Cecilia (Meyer) Hitchcock. He is so dearly missed by his wife, Rosaria, of 55 years.
He is the loving and selfless father to Cecilia Stebell (Jeff), Paul John Hitchcock, Patricia Weber (Paul) and Stephanie Cullen (Jon). He is the greatest Papa to Jeffrey Stebell (Claire), Jamie Sieczkowski (John) and Joshua Stebell (Samantha), Kaelie and Zackary Weber, and Sydney and Brady Cullen. He is blessed with 5 great-grandchildren, Ansley, Judah, Addilyn, Daniella and Nora Rose.
He is already missed by his siblings, Victor (Maggie), Dennis (Marge), Robert (Penny), Thomas (Gail), Cecilia Serff (Eric) and Gregory (Joan).
While we deeply grieve our great loss, we have peace in knowing that he is free from pain, wrapped in God’s glory and enjoying long walks on streets of gold.
