Patrick J. Kloss, age 58, of North East, passed away on Friday November 15, 2024 at Allegheny General Hospital.
He was born on July 12, 1966 in Erie, Pennsylvania to the late Joseph V. Kloss, Sr. and Joyce (Coffey) Kloss.
Patrick graduated from Seneca High School and Emory University where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree.
He served in the United States Air Force for 23 years exiting as a Master Sergeant. His specialties included Integrated Avionics Systems, Avionics Test and Components; Aircraft-Main Frames, Propulsion, Controls, Communications, and Telemetry/Navigation; and Defense Attache with over 3 years in the Turkish Embassy.
His missions included Airwing Maintenance, Supply, Support, and Combat Med-Evacs with deployments in Southwest Asia and Kosovo; and many Expeditionary Assignments.
Among his many awards and citations were numerous Medals, Service Stars, and OakLeaf Clusters for: Small Arms Expert Marksmanship, Global War on Terrorism, NATO Medals, National Defense Service Medal, Outstanding Unit Award with Valor Device, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, and Air Force Commendation Medal.
He was subject to Active Duty Recall by the Secretary of the Air Force.
He was a man of steel resolve for the respect of God, and welfare of Home, Family, Country.
Patrick enjoyed all matters mechanical and electrical, shooting sports, and keeping abreast of world conditions/events.
He was a member of St. Gregory Thaumaturgus Church in North East.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, John W. Kloss, Jerome D. Kloss, and George E. Kloss; sisters, Margaret J. Kloss and Joanne Conti; and brother-in-law, David Slagle.
Patrick is survived by his brothers, Joseph V. Kloss (Mary Lee) and Vincent S. Kloss (Marlene); sisters, Helen R. Kloss, Rosalie L. Edinger (David), Marian J. Kloss, Judith J. Kloss, and Dolores E. Slagle; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Family and friends may be greeted at St. Gregory Thaumaturgus Parish, 48 South Pearl Street, North East on Wednesday November 20th at 9:30 a.m. until time of a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. followed by a committal service with Full Military Honors at St. Gregory Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Gregory Church, 140 West Main Street, North East, PA 16428. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the William D.
