Norah Lynn Giroux, age 2, died on Thursday, June 15, 2023 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, NC.
She was born on January 4, 2021 to Daniel and Erin Giroux. A lively, loud, smart and silly little girl, Norah charmed her friends and family with her wild and mischevious spirit.
Born profoundly deaf, she opened a new world to her family as they embraced sign language and the deaf community, as well as cochlear implants (or as they called them, Norah's ears).
Norah loved to eat smoothies and popsicles, watch Toy Story on repeat, build with magna-tiles, and enjoy the outdoors. She will be remembered with a messy-faced grin, usually missing at least one shoe, and a tangle of beautiful curly hair.
She is preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Betsy Mattis Lynn, of North East; her maternal aunt, Rachael Lynn Gray, of North East; great-grandparents William Lynn of North East, Lilli Mattis of Erie, Jack and Carol Magee of Watertown, CT and Robert and Lorraine Giroux of Watertown, CT.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her three siblings: Jack, Claire and Samuel Giroux; grandparents, Daniel Lynn of North East and Jean and Nancy Giroux of Southport, NC; great-grandparents, Mildred Lynn of North East and Don and Barb Mattis of Harborcreek; uncles, Nathan (Desiree) Giroux, Joseph (Melissa) Giroux, Brent (Jen) Lynn, Braden (Kristin) Lynn, Bram (Anna) Lynn, Bryce (Ashley) Lynn, and Brennen Lynn; and several very special cousins, great aunts, uncles, and friends.
Friends may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake Street, North East, on Thursday, June 22 from 3-7pm and are invited to attend a funeral service on Friday, June 23 at 11am. Burial to follow at North East Cemetery. Please send condolences to elkinfh.com.
In lieu of flowers, the family lovingly requests a donation be made to: Western PA School for the Deaf Children's Center at Edinboro University, the preschool program Norah was to attend. http://www.wpsd.org.
