Nancy (Newman) Luke

Nancy Newman Luke, 80, of North East peacefully passed away on Monday October 20, 2025 after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born on March 29, 1945 in Erie, Pennsylvania to the late William and Eunice (Bissell) Newman.

Nancy was formerly employed by the North East Police Department, North East School District as a crossing guard, and was a babysitter for many families in North East.

She was a member of the North East Immanuel United Methodist Church.

Nancy was an angel for many throughout the North East community who she loved and considered close friends. Even in her illness, she would help anyone in need and provided a lending ear for problems or just "good conversation". Family was a priority and she loved cooking from scratch and feeding anyone who was hungry. Nancy was an inspiration who loved life and everyone she came in contact with. She will be sadly missed for her love, smile, comforting presence, humility, and words of wisdom.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry F. Luke, Sr. and daughter, Brenda Luke.

Nancy is survived by her sons, Henry Luke, Jr. of North East and Todd Luke, Sr. (Christine) of North East; grandchildren, James (Katrina), Michael, Todd, Jr., and Trever; great-grandchildren, Jazmyne, Kiara, and Ava; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends and family may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake Street, North East on Friday from 2:00 p.m. until time of a funeral service at 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
