Nancy Marie (Ives) Beeman

Nancy Marie (Ives) Beeman, 71, formerly of North East, passed peacefully on February 29, 2024, with family by her side.  She was born on December 21, 1952, in Erie, PA to the late Mark and Beatrice (Goodenow) Ives.  She was raised in the Findley Lake, NY area and attended the Sherman, NY schools.  She spoke often of her love of and gratitude for growing up on a farm.

Following graduation from high school she married Gerald Beeman on July 10, 1971.  Ultimately, they settled in North East where they raised their two children.  While attending to her small children she returned to school, graduating from Penn State Behrend with a degree in nursing.  Her career in health services included time at Hamot Hospital, Harborcreek Family Practice, Metro Health Center, Eastway Emergicenter, as well as various home care and hospice organizations.  She also taught for a time at Erie Business Center.  Her longest tenure was at North East Family Practice where she was instrumental in the office’s launch alongside Dr. John Dudzinski.  She had been a member at North East Alliance Church and throughout her life held strong to her Christian faith.  She enjoyed volunteering with organizations or ministries that served the less fortunate, including what is now known as 4 N.I.N.E. Thrift Store in its early years.  Her hobbies included scrapbooking, coin-collecting, genealogy research, puzzles, reading, attending baseball games and country concerts.  More than these she treasured time with her grandchildren.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Marvin Ives.  She leaves behind her husband; son, Greg Beeman (Kendra) of Harrisburg, PA; daughter, Kim Neff (Tim) of Elizabethtown, PA; grandchildren, Olivia, Mitchell, Elizabeth, & Eli Neff, and Bryce Beeman; sister, Darla Parmarter (Charles) of North East; and sister-in-law, Claire Ives.

A private funeral service was held at North East Alliance Church.  Interment was at Grahamville Cemetery.  Arrangements were handled by the William D. Elkin Funeral Home.
