Obituary

Mary F. Stitt, 81, of North East, passed away on Thursday, January 27, 2022 at St. Vincent Hospital. She was born on July 1, 1940 in Fredonia, NY, the daughter of the late Lloyd Pierce and Gertrude George. After graduating high school, Mary was formerly employed by Youngs Fruit Farm and enjoyed other seasonal work during grape and apple season. Mary had a passion for animals, and almost always had a dog for companionship. Mary was preceded in death by her loving husband, Edwin A Stitt; son, Edwin M Stitt; and son-in-law, Albert Ballew Jr. Mary is survived by her daughter, Connie Ballew of North East; grandson, Jeffrey Ballew; sisters, G Irene Maris and Gladys Wynonna (Babe) Bifaro; brother, Phillip Pierce; as well as several nieces and nephews. Private funeral arrangements are being handled at convenience of the family by the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake Street, North East. Private interment will be held at North East Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the Anna shelter or charity of one's choice.
