Mark John Itle, 81, of North East, PA, was born to eternal life on Friday October 3, 2025, at his home, surrounded by family.
He was born April 25, 1944, in Munster Township, Pennsylvania, to the late Francis James Itle and Mildred Cecilia (Sutton) Itle.
Mark graduated from the Pennsylvania State University with a degree in engineering in 1967, before serving in the United States Army with the 82nd Engineer Battalion in Bamberg, West Germany.
Mark was employed for many years as a manufacturing engineer at Wheel Horse Products in South Bend, Indiana. He was later employed by E.S.T. Co., in Grafton, Wisconsin, before returning to Pennsylvania.
Mark was a member of the North East American Legion Post 105, St Gregory Thaumaturgus Church, and a proud member of the Penn State Booster Club. Mark loved woodworking, reading, golf, and the Nittany Lions.
He is survived by his wife loving wife of 52 years, Kathleen Berger Itle; son, Kenneth Mark Itle (Lauren Van Damme) of Evanston, Il; daughter Laura Jean Itle of Alexandria, VA; sister, Mary F. Lessard of Ebensburg, PA; brothers, Charles A. Itle (Elizabeth) of Reading, PA, and James R. Itle (Mary Elaine) of Ebensburg, PA; grandchildren, Clement, Harold, and Vivian; and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews
Friends and family are welcome for visitation at the Askew-Houser Funeral Home, 300 North Julian Street, Ebensburg, PA on Thursday October 9th from 6-8 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at the Basilica of St. Michael the Archangel in Loretto, PA, on Friday October 10th at 10 a.m. followed by interment at St. Michael’s Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Gregory Thaumaturgus Church, 136 W Main St, North East, PA 16428, and the Community Nursing Services of North East, 7 Park St, North East, PA 16428.
