Lonnie "Butch" J. McLaughlin, age 64, of North East, PA passed away on Thursday October 5, 2023 at his residence.
He was born on April 29, 1959 in Dubois, PA the son of the late Bert C. and Lois E. (Tapper) McLaughlin.
Butch served in the United States Army and was formerly employed as a supervisor by Bush Industries for several years.
He loved spending time with his family and enjoyed fishing, hunting, watching the discovery channel, working on old vehicles, and listening to country and old time rock 'n' roll music.
Butch was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Ginger Marcus; sister, Sally Chrispen; brothers, Gerald Wayne Burkett and Gerald Max McLaughlin; and brother-in-law, Mike Montgomery.
He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Cynthia (Vaeth) McLaughlin whom he married June 28, 2003; sons, Rick Miles (Julie), John Miles (Dawn), and David Gibbens (Karrie); brother, Daniel A. McLaughlin (Kathy); sisters, Sandy Erven (Gary), Cathy Kuchcinski (Raymond), Mary Montgomery (Kirk), Sharon Proper (Jim), Denise Gross, and Lois Nighman (Craig); Rick Chrispen, Arthur Gross and several grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to attend the South Harborcreek Methodist Church, 7929 McGill Road, Harborcreek on Saturday October 14th at 10:00 a.m. until time of a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. at the church. Officiating the service is Pastor Tim Hoover. Memorials may be made to the Erie VA Medical Center, 135 East 38 Street, Boulevard, Erie, PA 16504.
