Lauretta J. (Krista) Ardillo, age 79, of North East, peacefully passed away on Sunday July 17, 2022 at her residence. She was born on October 7, 1942 in Erie, Pennsylvania the daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (Balkovic) Krista. Lauretta graduated from Academy High School and was formerly employed by Millcreek Community Hospital as a nurse. She also worked at Parkside and Better Baked Foods in North East. Lauretta was a member of the North East American Legion Post 105 Ladies Auxiliary, North East V.F.W. Post 4789, and the Brotherhood of St. Joseph. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, baking, bird watching, bowling, and scrapbooking. Lauretta was preceded in death by her parents; infant son; and brother, Chester F. Krista. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Jim Ardillo whom she married March 5, 1966; daughters, Karen Hollarn (Thomas) and Jean Bertram; son-in-law, Jeff Bertram; sons, Jim Ardillo, John Ardillo (Kim), and Kristopher Ardillo (Amanda); sisters, Karen A. Krouse, Joan Krista, and Linda Tharpe; grandchildren, Mackenzie (Stephanie), Rayna, Taryn (Garrett), Nathan, Kamerron, Tyler, Branden, and Delaney; and great-grandchildren, Laurel and Owen. Friends may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake Street, North East on Thursday from 3:00 P.M. till 7:00 P.M. and are invited to attend a graveside service at Laurel Hill Cemetery at 11:00 A.M. on Friday. Officiating the service is Fr. Thomas Brooks.
