Laurence A. Keefe “Larry”, age 79, of North East, passed away on Friday, February 18, 2022. He was born on June 28,1942 in Warren, Pennsylvania to the late William Allen and Margaret (Heard) Keefe. Larry graduated Warren Area High School and completed the G.E. Apprentice Program and was employed by General Electric as a test engineer for 42+ years. Larry was a member of the Brookside Volunteer Fire Department where he formerly served as chief. He was a co-founder of the Erie County Mudmushers. He was also active in AFS Intercultural Programs. Larry had a passion for motosports, trains, engineering, and photography. He loved nothing more than being able to sit on his back deck with friends and family while sipping on a homemade beer. Larry was preceded by his wife, Sara “Sally” Ferris Keefe (April 10, 2010). He is survived by a son, Laurence A. Keefe, Jr. (Patti) of LaGrange, OH; his daughters, Christine Good (James) of Rock Hill, SC, Simona Randazzo (Gautier) of Tournai, Belgium, Lena Surzhko-Harned (Donald) of Erie, and Kewalin (Meen) Poonchan (Adam) of Columbus; granddaughter’s, Vayda, Violet, Valerie, Victoria and Leela; grandson’s, Alex (Alicia) and Misha and several great grandchildren. Friends may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake Street, North East on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until time of a memorial service at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
