Kory Ray Edwards, age 67, of North East passed away on Wednesday July 9, 2025 at St. Vincent Hospital.
He was born October 5, 1957 to the late Kenneth and Phyllis (Keith) Edwards.
He graduated from North East High School in 1975 and received a BS Degree in Political Science from Mercyhurst College. He served in the United States Air Force for 11 years as a military police officer.
Kory was the owner and operator of Valley Gun Works in North East. He was also a chef and formerly owned several restaurants in the Chicago area.
He was a member of the North East Athletic Club, American Legion, the East Erie Moose Lodge # 593, and A.B.A.T.E. of Erie, PA.
Kory was a certified gunsmith, loved cooking, playing chess, was an avid reader, musician, theater buff, and loved his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Marty L. Edwards.
Kory is survived by his wife, Susan (Lanski) Edwards; son; Marty Edwards (Taylor) of AZ; brothers, Tracy Edwards (Cathy) of AZ, Gordon Edwards of ND; sister, Darlene Gould (George) of Corry; grandchildren, Clint Edwards and Atticus Edwards.
Private funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake Street, North East. There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date to be announced. Please send condolences to elkinfh.com.
