Karen Giles Obituary

Karen Elizabeth (Dibble) Giles, 80, passed away on Monday June 30, 2025 at her residence.

She was born on July 16, 1944 in Lackawanna, New York to the late Earl Dibble and Dorothy (Krathaus) Reed.

Karen graduated from Sherman Central High School in 1962 and loved being a mother of eleven children.

She was a member of the Wesleyville American Legion Post 571, North East VFW Post 4789, and the East Erie Moose Lodge.

Karen enjoyed gardening, decorating, ceramics, and was very proud of her room sized Christmas Village. She was a homemaker that took pride in keeping her immaculate/ welcoming home and raising her children and grandchildren. Her favorite time of year was Christmas, when she would make hundreds of Cookies, Candies and Pies to share with family and friends. She loved to host her large family and friends with outdoor cookouts. Christmas time parties and large birthday parties. She was a warm and caring wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was loved and will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Michael Giles (Jackie) and Shawn Giles; and sister, Gloria Dibble.

Karen is survived by her husband of 38 years Edward Giles whom she married November 1, 1986; sons, Richard Leamer Jr., Patrick Giles (Diana), Randy Leamer (Sheila), and Rocky Leamer (Denice); daughters, Roberta Tackett (Scott), Colleen Randolph (John), Theresa Giles (Mike), and Renee' Waters (Fred); sisters, Sherry Hoot and Helen Childs; daughter-in-law, Adele Burnett-Giles; and an army of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
