Joseph F. Marshall, 82, of North East passed away on Monday May 4, 2026 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on September 15, 1943 in St. Louis, Missouri to the late Gaynell and Bertha (Dietrich) Marshall.
Joseph graduated from St. Mary's High School and was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the United States Air Force as a decoding specialist.
He was a member of St. James Roman Catholic Church and the Brotherhood of St. Joseph Club.
Joseph was employed at General Electric as customer service representative and later a warehouse supervisor.
He loved spending time with his family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren which were the light of his life. Joseph also enjoyed going out to dinner with friends, bowling, and gambling at casinos. He will be missed by his family and friends.
Joseph was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, John, William, and Thomas Marshall.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years Karen (Brotherton) Marshall whom he married October 21, 1967; children, Mary Miller-Morrison (Michael), Joseph Marshall, Jr. (Heather), James Marshall (Dr. Jennifer Stull-Marshall), and Barbara Lattanzie (William); brother, Donald Marshall; sisters, Dorothy Fazio, Linda McMullin (Dennis), Gayle Chancellor, Loretta Gallagher, Janice Storey (Matt), Winnie Jankowski, and Karen Marshall; 20 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and a multitude of nieces and nephews.
Friends and family are invited to attend a Memorial Mass on Thursday May 7th at 10:30 a.m. at St. James Roman Catholic Church, 2635 Buffalo Road, Erie. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday May 8th at 6:30 p.m. at Eastway Lanes, 4110 Buffalo Road, Harborcreek. Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
