Joseph E Lewis

Joseph E. Lewis, Sr., age 81, of North East, PA passed away on Saturday September 4, 2023 at UPMC Hamot. He was born on March 20, 1942 in Depew, NY the son of the late Harold G. and Mary Jane (Koons) Lewis. Joe was formerly employed by General Electric in Erie, PA for 30 years until retirement. He was an active member of the Soul Seeking Community Church where he loved reading the word of God. Joe enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his five brothers and five sisters. Joe is survived by his wife of 59 years, Margie (Alford) Lewis whom he married December 24, 1964; son, Joseph Lewis, Jr. of North Dakota; sister, Mary Carr of South Carolina; and granddaughters, Carol Ann Lewis and Shelby Jolene Lewis. Friends may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake Street, North East on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until time of a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Officiating the service is Pastor Mark Shettler. Private interment will be held at Greenfield Cemetery.
