Joseph J Chizewick

Joseph J. Chizewick, age 78, of North East, passed away on Thursday February 9, 2023 at UPMC Hamot. He was born on January 3, 1945 in Erie, PA the son of the late Joseph and Theresa (Kiley) Chizewick. Joseph graduated from Harborcreek High School and throughout his early years worked at Chizewick's Farm located on Buffalo Road in Harborcreek. He was formerly employed as a car salesman at Mackay-Swift Inc Dodge in North East and most recently was employed as a security guard at Welch Foods retiring in June of 2022. Joseph was a member of the Alcanon Club of Erie and enjoyed farming, gardening, and the outdoors. He was preceded in death by his sons, Joseph M. Chizewick and Shawn P. Chizewick. Joseph is survived by his wife of 35 years Mary E. (Skiba) Chizewick who he married August 8, 1988; son, Thomas Chizewick of Erie; daughters, Michele Chizewick of FL and Mary Ellen Johnson (Gary) of Pittsburgh; sister, Katherine Laboski of Erie; grandchildren, Robin, Eva, and Jessica; and great-grandchildren, Amelia and Juniper. Private interment will be held at St. Gregory Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 3025 French Street, Erie, PA 16504.
