John E Bovee

John E. Bovee, 88, of Ripley, NY passed away on Monday September 4, 2023 at UPMC Hamot. He was born on July 22, 1935 in Clymer, NY the son of the late George and Anna (Kherli) Bovee. John graduated Ripley Central High School and owned and operated JBK Farms in Ripley for several years. He supplied grapes to Welch's Food and enjoyed supporting Welch's Food products during his farming career.

John was a devoted and faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Ripley where he served as Church Deacon and greeter. Throughout his life, John loved the word of God, singing, farming, and had a loving, gentle, and kind spirit. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

John was preceded in death by his 1st wife of 41 years, Barbara J. Bovee and son, Brion K. Bovee. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Kathy (Raeder) Bovee whom he married on February 14, 2002; children, Brenda Young (Kevin) of Westfield, NY and Kevin Bovee (Rosaura) of Fresno, CA; step-son, Kristopher Paulson (Abby) of North East. PA; daughter-in-law, Becky Bovee; grandchildren, Alec, Austin, Stephanie, Andrew, and Kimberly; and great-grandchildren, Xavier and Marius.

Family and friends may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake Street, North East on Friday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and are invited to attend a Funeral Service on Saturday at 11:00 a.m at the First Baptist Church of Ripley. Interment will be held at Quincy Cemetery.
