Joanne M. (Hess) Ramsdell

Joanne M. (Hess) Ramsdell, age 90, of North East, passed away on Tuesday, July 26, 2022 at Ball Pavilion. She was born on February 2, 1932 in Erie, Pennsylvania the daughter of the late Edwin J. and Alice (Thomas) Hess. 

Joanne graduated Wattsburg High School and was a member of St. Gregory Thaumaturgus Church in North East. She enjoyed sewing and quilting. 

Joanne was preceded in death by her husband, Roger R. Ramsdell (October 26, 2020); great-grandson, Cole Ramsdell; sister, Jean Huntley; and brother-in-law, Alton Huntley. 

She is survived by her children; Timothy L. Ramsdell (Marcia) of Virginia, Daniel R. Ramsdell (Kathy) of Zionsville, PA, John E. Ramsdell (Wendy) of North East, Gerald T. Ramsdell (Susan) of North East, and Cheryl J. Anderson (Alan) of Columbus, Indiana; brother, Thomas Hess (Marion) of North East; grandchildren, Jennifer, Jason, Carson, Kathryn, Marta, Heidi, Steven, William, and Hannah; great-grandchildren, Ava and Elle; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

Friends may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake Street, North East, on Friday from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and are invited to attend a prayer service on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. at St. Gregory Church. Interment will be held at Grahamville Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Gregory Thaumaturgus Church, 136 West Main Street, North East, PA 16428.
