Jeffrey W Bulger 73 of North East, passed away on Sunday, Feb 22, 2026 at UPMC Hamot.
He was born April 8, 1952 in Wheeling WV to the late George A and Nan A Miller Bulger.
Survived by his wife Cheryl (Mauk), whom he married Nov 29, 1974. Jeff has three sons, Jason of Erie, Craig (Kim) of Worthington OH, and Patrick (Megan) of North East; sister Nancy Head (Paul) of Altoona PA and five grandchildren...Caileigh, Emily, Aden, Olivia and Ireland...and a great-grandson...Gus along with several nieces and nephews in Altoona also.
Jeff obtained his Bachelor’s Degree from Penn State University and was a former history teacher at Hollidaysburg Jr. High School. He went on to sales and opened the first Apple Computer store in Altoona PA before moving to the Erie area. Among various sales positions held here in Erie, his favorite by far was Pharmaceutical Sales until his retirement.
He always still loved to teach and give of himself whenever called upon or was needed. This began with North East Little League. Many grown men in this town still called him Coach Bulger when they saw him.
Jeff loved his baseball! His Pirates and Steelers, but above all, PENN STATE!!!!! You would often hear him say "We Are" to anyone wearing Blue and White. Being an avid reader and historian he had a vast knowledge of military history. He never passed up an opportunity to stop a veteran and thank them for their service, knowing what it took to give full measure to their country. He liked hearing veterans talk about their experiences and the heroes left behind. But most of all he loved his Lord, church and family. He helped in church daycare after retirement, taught Sunday School, taught youth group as a Leader, served as an Elder, and as a Food Bank rep for the CMA of North East. But the biggest gift from God he always said was his salvation and his family. He will be sadly missed by all who loved him.
A celebration of his life will be planned at a later date. Private funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the William D. Elkin Funeral Home in North East. Memorials may be made to the American Kidney Foundation. Condolences may be sent to elkinfh.com
