Jay E. Confer, 75, of North East, passed away on Friday January 23, 2026 at Ball Pavilion.
He was born on July 25, 1950 in Bradford, PA to the late Everett and Betty (Oesterling) Confer.
Jay graduated from high school and attended Gannon University. He served honorably in the U.S. Marine Corps.
He was employed by B.A.S.F. for 42 years as a warehouse supervisor.
Jay was a member of the American Legion Post 105, was an avid fisherman, golfer, and hunter who loved to travel, and enjoyed following the Steelers.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Margaret Hetrick and Mary Joan Confer; and brothers, Ronald, Stanley, and Patrick Confer.
Jay is survived by his wife Cindy Camp Reynolds Confer; sons, Greg Confer (Leigh Swoger) of North East,PA, Jim Reynolds (Michelle) of Allegany, NY, and Matt Reynolds (Mandi) of Forney, TX; daughter, Shana Pierce (Scott) of North East, PA; nine grandchildren, and seven
great grandchildren; sisters, Theresa McCool (Fred) of Smethport, PA, and Beth Confer of Georgia; and brother, Charles Confer (Kathleen) of Georgia.
A celebration of life will be arranged for later this year. Arrangements have been entrusted to the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake Street, North East. Please send condolences to elkinfh.com.
