In Loving Memory of Janet Vilella
March 16, 2025, Erie, Pennsylvania
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Janet Vilella, age 82, who died peacefully on Sunday, March 16, 2025, in Erie, Pennsylvania. She was born in Shippenville, PA on November 18,1942, daughter of Aileen Wakley of Riply, NY and Daniel Reid of Odessa, TX.
Janet graduated from Keystone High School in Knox, PA. but raised her children in Ripley, NY. After raising her children, she spent many years in Lakeland, Florida where she retired from her 30 year career working at Sam's Club.
In her spare time she enjoyed playing bingo, gardening and using her green thumb to rejuvenate any wilting plant or flower. She was a dedicated Days of Our Lives watcher and couldn't resist a game show (Wheel of Fortune was a favorite).
She is survived by her daughter, Renee Stanley (John); sons Fred Vilella (Donna), Gus Vilella, and Danny Sugden; Sisters, Judy Corchado and Diane Wakeley; brother, Bill Reid; 10 Grandchildren, Shoechelle, Osmin, Bradley, Tylor, Angalea, Alysha, Brett, Brittney, Elizabeth and William; Step Grandchildren, Shannon, Chris, Arianna, Brendan and Trisha. She is also survived by many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Janet was predeceased by her cherished children Amy Sanchez, Phillip Vilella, and William Vilella; Step Grandchild, Jason.
Known for her warm heart, kindness, and unwavering love for her family and friends, she will truly be missed by many.
Family and friends may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake Street, North East on Saturday, March 22, from 11:00 a.m until time of a memorial service at Noon at the funeral home.
