Janet Rose (Wolfe) Rizzo

Janet Rose (Wolfe) Rizzo, 80, of North East, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully on Friday, July 30, 2021, with family by her side. She was born December 13, 1940, in Erie, Pennsylvania, to the late Martin and Esther (Kendy) Wolfe. In 1985, Jan graduated from Strong Vincent High School and in 1960 graduated from Erie Commercial College. She then went on to have a fulfilling career at the First National Bank of North East and Legacy Design. She was a member of St. Gregory Church. She enjoyed shopping, craft shows, chatting on the phone with her friends, and cooking Sunday dinners for her family whom she loved dearly. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her husband, Richard, by taking walks, going on car rides, and sightseeing. Jan lit up every room she walked into and made friends everywhere she went. Jan was preceded in death by her parents; her three siblings; John Wolfe, Martin Wolfe, and Esther Grzywinski; and one grandchild, Holly. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Richard Rizzo; three children, Mark Rizzo (Kathy),Derek Rizzo, and Kelly Rizzo; six grandchildren, Wendy Schermerhorn (Eric), Melissa Rizzo (Hayley), Daren Rizzo (Kylie), Erik Rizzo, Shae Wilson, and Brett Wilson; and five great-grandchildren, Finley, Keaton, Amy, Glenn, and Ellie; as well as several nieces, nephews, and close friends including Betty Lou Lamb who was her closest friend for ever 50 years. Friends and family are invited to call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake Street, North East, on Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at St. Gregory Church on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. Internment will be held at St. Gregory Cemetary. Memorials may be made to St. Gregory Church, 136 West Main Road, North East, PA 16428.
