Janet (Kalinowski) Baker, age 74, of North East, passed away on Saturday May 4, 2024 at home.
She was born on June 9, 1949 in Erie, Pennsylvania to the late John J. and Priscilla (Dougherty) Kalinowski.
Janet graduated Iroquois High School in 1967 and was a bank teller for 35 years in North East.
She was a member of the North East American Legion Post 105 and the East Erie Moose Lodge #593.
Janet loved life and helping others and enjoyed fishing and working in the grape vineyard with her husband.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Dr. Amy Baker Keith Renshaw; and brother-in-law, Bob Uglow.
Janet is survived by her husband of 54 years Michael Baker whom she married on June 6, 1970; daughter, Sarah Baker Montgomery (Robert) of Northampton, PA; twin sister, Joyce Uglow of North East; brother, Larry Kalinowski (Ruth) of Springfield, MO; grandchildren, Kayla Haeseler (Jacob), Aiden Sayers, Addison Sayers, and Riley Montgomery; great-grandchildren, McKinley and Teagan.
Family and friends may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake Street, North East on Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. until time of a funeral service at 6:00 p.m. Officiating the service is Fr. Thomas Brooks. In lieu of flowers please plant a tree in Janet's name at St. Gregory Cemetery or memorials may be made to the Community Nursing Service of North East, Hospice, 7 Park Street, North East, PA 16428.
