Jack Arthur Carey, 80, of Ripley, formerly of Wattsburg, passed away on Monday, March 29, 2021 at St. Vincent Hospital. He was born on August 14, 1940 in Erie, Pa., the son of the late Clinton and Louise (Winkler) Carey. Jack served in the United States Army and was employed by Corry Custom Machine as a machinist. He enjoyed the casino and spending time with his family. Jack was a very loving person and always put everyone else first. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Marvin, Allen, Gilbert, Clinton Carey Jr.; sisters, Grace Norris, Lois Skinner, Marge Spiller, and Kathy Carey; and stepmother, Helen Carey. Jack is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Kathleen Carey of Ripley, whom he married on September 12, 1964; children, Dennis Carey (Tina) of North East, Dave Carey (Kerry) Of North East, Doug Carey of Ripley, and Christine Thomas of North East; brothers and sisters, Chet, Suzanne, Diane, Mike, Tom, Steve, Jeff, Connie, Jon, Valerie and Tina; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. A graveside service with full Military Honors will be held at Lowville Cemetery, 13552 Route 8, Wattsburg, Pa. on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at 11:00 a.m with Rev. Dan Cass officiating. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake Street, North East. Memorials may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
