Gerald "Jerry" Holdsworth

Gerald "Jerry" Holdsworth, age 75, North East, went to his heavenly home on Saturday June 10, 2023 surrounded by his loving family in the comfort of his lakefront home. He was born on June 21, 1947 in Erie, PA the son of the late Joseph and Donna Mae (Younger) Holdsworth. Jerry loved to travel. In his twenties, he made many trips cross country in his 1954 One Ton Panel Truck before meeting his wife of 46 years Judy in Lake Tahoe, California. Together they traveled to many unique and exotic places throughout their lifetime. He established roots in North East in 1979 and eventually took over the family owned Freeport Restaurant where he built many long standing relationships with the North East community, customers, and staff. Jerry was a kind and generous man who enjoyed family and friends and touched the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing him. 1 Thessalonians 4:13,14 "But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that you sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with Him." He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Denise (Holdsworth) Richardson. Jerry is survived by his wife Judy; son, Jacob Holdsworth (Suzanne); daughter, Amber Hudik (Michael); brother, Don Holdsworth; grandsons, Wesley and Ashton Hudik; granddaughter, Hannah DeZwaan; and his Freeport family. To honor Jerry's wishes there will be no service or calling hours. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake Street, North East.
