Fredric D. Baker, age 74, of North East, passed away Monday March 17, 2025 after a short hard fight with cancer.
He was born on April 4, 1950 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to the late Charles and Clara (Greenaway) Baker.
Fredric was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the United States Army and Army Reserves.
He had a successful career in trucking and was employed by Holiday Meats, Lyons Transportation, and many other company's ending his career with Fedex Freight.
Fred was a loyal member of the Wesleyville American Legion Post 571 and the North East American Legion Post 105.
He enjoyed 4-wheeling in Grand Valley, tipping a few beers, Steeler football, cutting grass, and was a geography buff.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his step-son, William Jody Dickson.
Fredric is survived by his wife of 33 years Karen J. Eller Baker whom he married February 29, 1992; children, Don Baker (Barbara), Jim Baker (Sonia), Robert Baker (Jenny), and Cathy Little (Kevin); step-children, Jeffrey Dickson (Shawna) and Cheri Niles (Kevin); brother, Chuck Baker (Carol); sisters, Anne Shook (Jim) and Jenny Lehman; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; and his beloved dog, Paxton.
Family and friends may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake Street, North East on Friday March 21st from 3:00 until time of a Full Military Honors service at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Private interment will be held at North East Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
