Fred H. Pollard, Jr., age 75, of North East, passed away on Sunday October 13, 2024 at UPMC Hamot.
He was born on October 26, 1948 in Erie, Pennsylvania to the late Fred H. Pollard, Sr. and Connie (McGregor) Alexander.
Fred served in the United States Navy and graduated from East High School.
He was formerly employed at the Erie VA Medical Center, Elby's Big Boy, Welch Foods, and was a North East High School crossing guard.
Fred was a member of the VA Golf League and organized several VA Coach USA bus trips to the Casino.
He enjoyed drives around different lakes, sunsets, feeding geese and seagulls, games of chance, deer hunting, and people.
"Fred, When its my time to go-I'll wait for you by the shoreline and we can float on the clouds and walk among the stars forever and ever- love you."
Fred was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Sandra Rogers; in-laws, James and Betty Champion; and brother-in-laws, Gerald Vinopal and Dennis Lee Champion.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years Elizabeth (Champion) Pollard whom he married December 7, 1968; son, Fred James Pollard (Michelle); daughter, Lisa Pollard; special granddaughter, Ashton Elizabeth Pollard (Cortney); sisters, Connie Vinopal, Joyce Wyant, and Robin Slubowski (Michael); special niece, Robin Sue Cody and several other nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Private funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake Street, North East.
