Francis Barnhart

Francis L. Barnhart, age 88, of North East, passed away peacefully on Wednesday November 24, 2021 at home surrounded by his family. He was born on August 5, 1933 in Erie, Pennsylvania to the late Claude and Floy (Stokes) Barnhart. Francis graduated from North East High School and served in the United States Army. He was a lifelong farmer, self employed plasterer and later in farm machinery sales and service. Francis was a member of the North East American Legion; North East F&AM Lodge; Erie Scottish Rite; Erie Zem Zem Shrine Club; and the Camel Herders Stable. He loved history and nature and enjoyed reading about both. Francis was preceded in death by his parents; beloved wife, Marion Elizabeth (Stenger) Barnhart; and brothers, Roger and Neil Barnhart. He is survived by his children, Theresa Morey (Tony) of Appomattox, VA, Dean Barnhart (Chrissy) of North East, and Melissa Artise (Michael) of North East; grandchildren, Duane, Matthew, Amanda, Justin, Anna, Dean, Michael, Cody, and Ally; and several great-grandchildren. Friends and family may call at the William D.
