Florence (Goodwill) Howell Croscut

Florence (Goodwill) Howell Croscut, age 97, of North East, PA passed away on Sunday November 5, 2023 at UPMC Hamot.

She was born on April 23, 1926 to the late Carl W. and Gertrude Louise (Blair) Goodwill.

Florence graduated Youngsville High School in 1944 and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of North East.

She was an active member of Shiloh Chapter #153 Order of Eastern Star for over 50 years. Florence formerly served as Mother Advisor of the North East Assembly #20 International Order of Rainbow for Girls (1965), District Deputy of District #1 International Order of Rainbow for Girls (1969-1994), and Past Matron of Shiloh Chapter #153 Order of Eastern Star.

Florence loved spending time with her family and friends and will be sadly missed.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Thomas B. Howell; second husband, Guy A. Croscut; brothers, Eugene, William, and Wayne Goodwill; and sisters, Winifred Walter and Eva Martin.

Florence is survived by her son, Richard Howell (Toni) of North East; step-children, Jim Croscut (Karen) of Sherman, NY and Kathy Emory (Gary) of Sherman, NY; grandchildren, Ann Marie Howell (Mike) of North East and Eric Howell (Stacy) of North East; great-grandchildren, Zac and Taylor; and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake Street, North East on Thursday from 3:00 p.m. up until time of a funeral service at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Officiating the service is Rev. Gregg Townsend. An Eastern Star Service will be held on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. Private interment will be held at North East Cemetery.
