Esther Siegel Pearsall, age 80, of Ripley, N.Y., died on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at Absolute Care of Westfield. She was born on December 28,1941 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania the daughter of the late Harold and Rhea (Haas) Siegel.
Esther graduated Taylor Allderdice High School and was formerly employed as an administrative assistant for 30 years. She also formerly managed the Palace Hotel Video Connection and owned and operated a donut shop in North East for several years. She was well know throughout North East and Ripley for her selfless volunteerism and community service. Esther was the co-founder of Project Love to see that no child goes without gifts on Christmas morning, hosted Thanksgiving dinners for those in need at the Ripley Fire Hall, started the Thrift Store, co-chaired the North East Leukemia Society Light the Night, and created the North East Wine Fest. She was awarded the North East Chamber of Commerce Service Award and was also inducted into the Mercy Center for Women's Woman Making History. Esther will be missed for her conversations, kind heart, laughter, and warm smile.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Sara Gitzen.
Esther is survived by her husband, Larry G. Pearsall; daughter, Bonnie S. Rearick of Lawrence Park; sisters, Annette Moser of Myrtle Beach and Rannette Toomey of Pittsburgh; and grandsons, Cory J. Rearick and Ryan J. Rearick.
Friends may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake Street, North East on Wednesday from noon until time of a funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Officiating the service is Gary Foster. Interment will be held at North East Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 1600 Peninsula Dr., Erie, PA 16505 or the family in care of the funeral home.
