Elaine C (Carter) Willett

Elaine C. (Carter) Willett, age 77, of North East, passed away on Monday May 12, 2025 at Nightingale Nursing Home & Rehab Center.

She was born on August 7, 1947 in Erie, Pennsylvania to the late Harold J. and Laura (Peck) Carter.

Elaine graduated from Academy High School and Edinboro State College where she obtained a bachelor's degree in elementary education and a master's degree in special education.

She was formerly employed as an elementary teacher at Clark Elementary School in Harborcreek for 25 years until her retirement in 1994. During her years in education she was actively involved and held several positions in the HCEA, NEA, and PSEA education associations.

Elaine was a member of the North East Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, volunteered for the North East Chamber of Commerce, and bowled in the St. Joseph bowling league for over 25 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Marion Czajkowski and Shirley French; and brothers, Roger Riewaldt, Donald Riewaldt, and James Carter.

Elaine is survived by her husband of 53 years Gregory W. Willett whom she married August 15, 1970; daughter, Nicole Willett- Evans (David) of North East; son Geoffrey W. Willett (Richard) of Hagerstown, MD; grandchildren, Jacob, Nathaniel and Ryan Evans; sister-in-law, Janet Carter of Millcreek; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends and family may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake Street, North East on Wednesday May 21st from 4:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. Private interment North East Cemetery.
