Dorothy "Sally" Marie (Burdick) Helffrich

Dorothy "Sally" Marie Helffrich, 90, of North East, passed away on Sunday January 11, 2026 at Presque Isle Bay Nursing surrounded by her loved ones.

She was born on October 7, 1935 in Erie, PA to the late Charles and Genevieve (Edwards) Burdick.

Sally graduated from Harborcreek High School in 1954 and worked at the North East V.F.W. as a bartender for several years.

She was an active member of the North East V.F.W. Post 4789 Ladies Auxiliary where she made many close friends.

Sally loved spending time with her family and enjoyed Bingo, crafts, shopping, dancing, and watching reality shows.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Charles Rosequist; second husband, Charles Helffrich; daughter, Cheryl Anne Rosequist; sisters, Judy Doran and Janet Cowin; granddaughter, Holly Rosequist; and grandsons, DJ Rosequist and Michael Baker.

Sally is survived by her children, Charles Rosequist (Amy), Donald Rosequist (Mary), and Diane Hinspeter all of North East; sisters, Susan Novel and Peggy Rogers; grandchildren, Lisa, Amy, Jimmy, Katie, Tiffany, Kristen, Jesse, Libby, and Emily; great-grandchildren, Kaleigh, Makenzie, Brenden, Adison, Savannna, Olyvia, Molly Jane, Jayden, Payson, and Zayden; and several nieces and nephews. 

Words cannot express how thankful we are to Katie, Bri, and Alexa from Interim HealthCare of Erie Hospice for taking such great care of mom.

Friends and family may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake Street, North East on Sunday January 18th from 3-7:00 p.m. and are invited to attend a funeral service on Monday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be held at North East Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Mellon Heritage Veteran's Outreach Center, 16 West Division Street, North East, PA 16428.
